About the instructor

Hola, soy Elizabeth, tu instructora de español.

I was born in Uruguay, raised in Argentina, and lived shortly in Venezuela and Colombia along the way. I have an appreciation and love of Spanish-speaking cultures, with the the small and big differences each country has to offer.

DAMARIS (MY SISTER) AND ME AT AGE 6 IN A JUNGLE IN VENEZUELA.

I started teaching Spanish when I came to college in the the U.S., where I now live. As I began to teach my language, I became enamored with it. I learned, with eagerness, everything I could about how the language works, and I passed this on to my eager students.

After teaching private lessons for 10 years, I decided to take my love of Spanish language instruction to the next level and earned my Masters in Teaching and spent the following three years teaching at a Spanish immersion public school.

Now with over fifteen years of teaching experience, I decided to open up classes to small groups and create courses to connect more people to Spanish. As a language learner myself, I love creating materials and updating each lesson to help my students learn best.

I absolutely love working with my students; they are hardworking committed individuals who want to expand their horizons and become connected to other cultures and possibilities.

I am so happy that you are here!
